Visiting Davis CA

Last week I visited Davis CA for the first time.  I say first time, because I really want to go back again.  I walked with friends along the tree-lined streets.  We saw LOTS of frozen yogurt shops and LOTS of Thai restaurants.  My friend commented he expected them to reach critical mass soon, and become Thai yogurt shops.  Could be some interesting flavors there.     🙂

There were shops selling home items, shops selling clothes, lots of bicycle shops (and skateboard shops), and a great indie bookstore called Avid Reader.  At the corners of Third and C Streets are two excellent restaurants: Crepeville, and Burgers and Brews.   We went to Crepeville on two mornings; great food, including good oatmeal.     🙂     Just remember to bring cash, because they don’t take plastic.  A group of us went to dinner at Burgers and Brews, and they had burgers made from two of my favorite meats, lamb and buffalo.  Also a large selection of beers.

The one thing I didn’t get to do was walk through the Farmer’s Market on Saturday.  (We had to travel.)   That’s a good reason to return, isn’t it?      🙂

  1. Yes, a return visit is a must. Come for Farmers Market Wednesday evening or Saturday morning and don’t miss a walk through the arboretum. Good times!
