Clouds and Denver International Airport

Recently we traveled from Medford OR to Madison WI via Denver International Airport.   Our flight from Medford to Denver was delayed by two hours, because thunderstorms in Denver meant the airplane was late getting out of Denver to fly to Medford.  But it made for some beautiful photos of clouds!

I have written before (here) about how much I love clouds.   Of course, at this point I am thinking about that Joni Mitchell song about clouds, but I won’t quote it here.     🙂

There has been some strange weather in the United States recently, such as tornadoes in Massachusetts and other states where they rarely happen.  So I should not have been surprised when I saw this sign at the Denver International Airport.

The terminals are the equivalent of a sheet metal building, so where are the shelters?  In the restrooms.   It actually makes sense, because of all the sturdy masonry to hold the plumbing.

And while we are at it, below is a view of the clouds on the flight from Denver CO to Madison WI.   It was definitely a cloud kind of day.    🙂
